Senior Payments Engineer — Acquiring & Payment Processing (Fintech)

Location: Remote from Türkiye

Salary: $5,000–$9,500 gross per month in USD

hirify.global is a fintech and retail company developing interest-free installment payment products that improve shopping access, merchant conversions, and order values.

What you will do

• Design and build Golang backend services integrating with payment processors, gateways, and card networks.
• Own authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation, and chargeback or dispute flows.
• Build idempotent, fault-tolerant, auditable transaction processing in a distributed architecture using transactional outboxes and queues such as Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Implement secure payment-data handling, tokenization, network tokens, and applicable 3DS/SCA flows within PCI DSS scope.
• Monitor authorization and decline rates, processor performance, latency, and settlement accuracy.
• Mentor engineers, unblock peers, and occasionally lead small project teams while using Claude or equivalent LLM tools for design, coding, research, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, including meaningful work with payments, fintech, or money-movement systems.
• Strong Go experience, or comparable Python experience, building and serving REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience integrating payment processors, gateways, or acquiring systems, with knowledge of authorization, settlement, tokenization, idempotency, reconciliation, and disputes.
• Experience with distributed cloud architectures, transactional outboxes, and queuing systems such as Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ.
• Demonstrated hands-on use of Claude or an equivalent LLM, with the ability to use AI productively while protecting cardholder data, credentials, and secrets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL-based relational databases through an ORM.
• Experience with Prometheus, New Relic, or Datadog for production monitoring and alerting.
• DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes, AWS, and containerized microservices experience.
• Experience shipping commercial payment APIs and prioritizing improvements based on stakeholder or customer feedback.
• Direct experience with acquiring platforms such as Adyen, Stripe, Marqeta, or Fiserv, plus exposure to PCI DSS, 3DS/SCA, or network tokenization.
