Commercial Lawyer (German Law) (Commercial and Regulatory Affairs): Advising on complex, high-value customer transactions, commercial contracts, product launches, disputes, and regulatory matters for the German region with an accent on German law, contract strategy, and compliance. Focus on negotiating customer requirements, managing legal issues throughout the contract lifecycle, developing compliant products and services, and mitigating legal and competition risks.
Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid working model with 3 days together and 2 days wherever

What you will do
- Act as lead lawyer on complex, high-value customer transactions focused on Germany.
- Provide pragmatic legal guidance and formal advice on projects, contracts, and legal risk.
- Support bid teams with customer requirements, proposal responses, and customer-issued contracts.
- Develop strategies for contract issues, customer complaints, disputes, product launches, and new initiatives.
- Develop standard contracts and ensure sales, product launches, and other business activities follow governance, compliance, competition law, and BT policies.
- Work with European Legal, product legal teams, external counsel, management, and legal process outsourcing providers.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with a background in German law.
- English at job-level proficiency and German at B2 level are required for confident professional communication.
- Strong communication, analytical, business, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Pragmatic, solutions-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, challenge the status quo, and provide balanced recommendations.
Nice to have
- Specialisation in EU and/or international IT law.
- Knowledge of common digital application standards, AI tools, and hands-on experience with legal-tech AI solutions.
- Three years of post-qualified experience or similar relevant experience.
- Experience with high-value, complex commercial contracts or transactions in an international company.
