TL;DR
Lead – European Institutions & French Public Affairs (Aerospace): Designing and executing EU and French public affairs strategies for a spacecraft company with an accent on institutional engagement, regulatory policy, public funding, and market access. Focus on advising executive leadership, leading policy advocacy with European and French authorities, and translating regulatory developments into actionable business recommendations.
Location: France; Bordeaux, France
Salary: €83.5K–€140K annually, subject to location and technical merit.

What you will do
- Co-define and execute EU and French public affairs strategies aligned with growth, funding, and market-access objectives.
- Advise the CEO, Chief Government Officer, and executive team on political, regulatory, and institutional matters.
- Lead engagement with the European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU, French ministries, Parliament, regulators, agencies, and institutional partners.
- Own priority policy files, including monitoring, analysis, positioning, advocacy, consultation responses, and position papers.
- Identify policy-driven risks and opportunities related to regulation, funding, industrial policy, sovereignty, and public procurement.
- Build effective public affairs processes and provide concise, decision-ready updates to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in European Studies, Political Science, Law, Public Policy, or an equivalent field.
- 5–7+ years of experience in EU and/or French public affairs, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or fast-moving regulated sector.
- Proven experience engaging directly with EU institutions and French public authorities at senior level.
- Experience advising executives in politically sensitive and ambiguous environments, with a strong understanding of policy impacts on business models, funding, and market access.
- Strategic, autonomous, pragmatic, and execution-oriented approach with strong political judgement and stakeholder-management skills.
- French: native or fluent; English: fluent.
