SRE Systems Engineer (AWS)

SRE Systems Engineer (AWS/Linux): Maintaining and optimizing hirify.global cloud services availability through incident response and automation with an accent on resilient systems and self-healing initiatives. Focus on automating the detection and resolution of production issues, leading Root Cause Analyses, and managing AWS infrastructure.

Location: Based in Herndon, VA. Must be a U.S. citizen living on U.S. soil

What you will do

• Monitor customer-facing services and lead technical responses to Sev0 and Sev1 incidents.
• Automate the detection and resolution of recurring production issues to reduce engineering toil.
• Contribute to resiliency, compliance, and self-healing initiatives through destructive testing and game day exercises.
• Perform technical reviews and contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs).
• Partner with and mentor team members to drive technical development and stay current on industry technology.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship (born or naturalized) and residence on U.S. soil; no dual citizenship.
• Ability to meet and maintain TS/SCI government background investigation and clearance standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional work experience.
• Expertise in TCP/IP networking and strong CLI knowledge of Unix variants (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
• Proficiency in Python or Go, with experience provisioning and operating AWS infrastructure.
• Experience with incident management and ITIL service operations in a 24/7 environment.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience supporting and managing Kubernetes-based applications.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet) and pipeline tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Spinnaker).
• Certifications in Linux+, Red Hat, or AWS.
• Familiarity with Agile processes and DevOps practices.
