TL;DR
Senior Fullstack Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript): Leading the development of modern web experiences and services for a global educational platform with an accent on accessibility, performance, and resilient backend architecture. Focus on building scalable features, optimizing Postgres queries, and architecting multiregion deployments to support millions of learners.
Location: Must be based in Budapest, Hungary. This role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday strongly encouraged.
Salary: HUF 1.8M – HUF 2M per month

What you will do
- Design, build, and own production features using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
- Model data and optimize performant Postgres queries, including migrations and indexing.
- Architect multiregion deployments focusing on traffic routing, latency, and failover strategies.
- Build for international audiences with a focus on i18n, l10n, and data residency.
- Champion accessibility (WCAG), testing, and CI/CD best practices.
- Mentor peers and collaborate with Product and Design teams on technical direction.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant TypeScript and Node.js expertise.
- Strong Postgres skills including schema design and query tuning.
- Security-conscious mindset with knowledge of authN/Z, OAuth/OIDC, and data privacy regulations (FERPA/GDPR).
- Excellent communication skills and a product-oriented mindset.
- Must be able to work onsite in Budapest, Hungary.

- Experience building LMS tools, specifically Canvas.
