PHP Team Lead (iGaming)

Location: Remote from Prague, Czechia, Serbia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Armenia, or Spain

What you will do

• Build, grow, and develop a team of Senior PHP Engineers, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance reviews, and career development.
• Lead architectural discussions, technical decision-making, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Establish and optimize Agile development processes, including planning, estimation, task decomposition, and delivery.
• Design and evolve scalable PHP backend architectures and optimize MySQL systems handling thousands of queries per second.
• Lead event-driven integrations with Apache Kafka and analytical integrations using ClickHouse.
• Own production reliability through monitoring, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems.

Requirements

• Remote work is available from Prague, Czechia, Serbia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Armenia, or Spain.
• 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead or Tech Lead managing PHP engineering teams.
• 6+ years of commercial PHP development experience and expert knowledge of PHP 8.x.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, software architecture, and Symfony and/or Laravel.
• Advanced MySQL experience, including query optimization, indexing, replication, performance tuning, concurrency, and lock optimization; experience with Redis and ClickHouse.
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka, distributed systems, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, networking, Prometheus, and Grafana.
