Technical Lead Manager (AI): Build and lead the team developing LLM-powered voice, email, chat, and SMS agents for real homeowner interactions, with an accent on production-scale agent architectures, orchestration, guardrails, and reliability. Focus on defining AI technical strategy and roadmap, shipping end-to-end customer-facing AI experiences, and driving observability and performance metrics across the agent stack.
Location: 100% remote from Canada only — candidates must currently be based in Canada, legally authorized to work in Canada, and reside in the country.
Salary: 188,080 - 207,878 CAD

What you will do
- Define Point’s AI technical strategy for customer experience and own the technical roadmap for AI agents across voice, email, chat, and SMS.
- Write code with the team: review PRs, prototype new agent capabilities, and debug production issues.
- Partner with Product, CX, and Ops to identify where AI agents can replace or augment manual workflows, then ship improvements.
- Design reliable agent architectures (orchestration, tool use, guardrails, fallback handling) that operate at production scale.
- Establish and track success metrics for agent performance, using data to prioritize the roadmap.
- Lead and grow a small senior engineering team; drive observability and reliability across the AI agent stack (e.g., Langfuse).
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems, including 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
- Proven experience shipping LLM-powered conversational AI or agentic systems in real-world environments.
- Track record delivering customer-facing products end-to-end (design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration).
- Deep systems design expertise for reliable, observable, real-time services; strong technical leadership and architecture decision-making.
- Hands-on experience with LLM and agent development: prompt engineering, RAG, tool usage, and orchestration frameworks.
- Must be based in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Nice to have
- Experience with conversational AI infrastructure such as telephony, messaging APIs, or chat platforms at scale.
- Experience with AI/ML evaluation and observability (quality instrumentation, drift detection, continuous improvement).
