TL;DR

Privacy And Commercial Counsel (GDPR/Commercial): Own end-to-end GDPR compliance operations and embed privacy/security requirements into product and server-side practices, with an accent on data subject requests, privacy documentation (DPAs/DPIAs/LIAs), and proactive regulatory monitoring. Focus on independently running commercial contracting for sales agreements while partnering with technical teams (ML and infrastructure) to ensure compliant-by-design data processing.

Location: Paris-based, 3 days/week in the office. Relocation within Europe is offered.

Salary: €63K – €76K + Stock-Options/BSPCE

What you will do

  • Run GDPR compliance operations end-to-end, including data subject requests and maintaining privacy documentation (registry of processing activities, DPAs, privacy policy), plus producing DPIAs and LIAs as needed.
  • Embed privacy and security compliance into product development by partnering with feature teams and working directly with ML and tech teams to ensure compliant-by-design data processing and server-side practices.
  • Monitor GDPR and other relevant foreign privacy regulations, assess impact on business activities, and proactively brief teams on required actions.
  • Own day-to-day commercial contracting for sales, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating sales agreements and handling ongoing contract request flow.
  • Support the Head of Legal with additional business needs such as trademark registrations and corporate, labor, and public affairs matters.
  • Grow into the DPO role as the privacy program matures.

Requirements

  • Location: must be Paris-based and work 3 days/week in the office.
  • 3–5 years of legal experience in data protection/privacy (internships not included), ideally from a top-tier or tech-focused law firm or as in-house counsel at a tech company (ideally SaaS/scale-up).
  • Experience drafting privacy/compliance documentation including DPAs, DPIAs, and LIAs.
  • Ability to independently review, draft, and negotiate a steady volume of commercial and sales contracts.
  • Master’s degree in law; bar admission is a plus but not required.
  • Languages: fluent in French and English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with AI technologies and their legal implications, including the EU AI Act.
