Engineering Lead - Structural - Group

Location: Montréal, Canada; hybrid workplace.

What you will do

• Lead the structural engineering discipline and provide technical governance for facilities within the ALTO high-speed rail programme.
• Oversee planning, design, multidisciplinary coordination, integration, and delivery strategy across architecture, structural, MEP, utilities, fire and life safety, civil interfaces, and rail systems.
• Prepare and govern engineering drawings, reports, specifications, design reviews, change control, configuration management, and design assurance.
• Coordinate with programme engineering, authorities, utility providers, third parties, and stakeholder groups on interfaces, permits, approvals, and compliance.
• Manage discipline risks, constructability, value engineering, budget and schedule alignment, procurement support, and technical performance.
• Maintain design intent through construction and support technical issue resolution, commissioning, handover, and operational integration.

Requirements

• Accredited engineering degree and Professional Engineer designation, OIQ designation, or eligibility for registration in Canada.
• 15+ years of experience in major infrastructure or transportation projects, including at least 10 years leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with rail, metro, or high-speed rail facilities design and delivery in complex, highly regulated environments.
• Broad expertise in structural and complex building systems, construction documents, MEP integration, fire and life safety, BIM, sustainability, climate resilience, and programme-scale interface management.
• Strong understanding of facilities and rail systems integration, civil infrastructure and utilities, operations and maintenance, safety, security, and regulatory frameworks.
• Bilingual English/French capability is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Alliance, PPP, or Design-Build delivery models.
• Experience integrating new infrastructure with existing brownfield systems.
