What you will do

• Serve as the mechanical authority for integrating electronics, effectors, and mission-critical hardware into mobile platforms.
• Architect and design mechanical structures, frames, and enclosures subject to extreme shock, vibration, and thermal constraints.
• Develop 3D CAD models and Interface Control Documentation (ICDs) to support multi-disciplinary integration.
• Perform first-order structural and thermal analyses to ensure compliance with military standards.
• Lead system-level qualification, acceptance activities, and fit-check efforts.
• Manage technical interfaces with customers, platform providers, and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 11+ years of experience in platform-level mechanical design for aerospace and defense applications.
• Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent) for large assemblies.
• Expertise in ruggedized military hardware and environmental qualification (e.g., MIL-STD-810).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with mechanisms and actuation systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, gimbals).
• Proficiency with FEA or multiphysics simulation packages (NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing and CNC machining processes.
