What you will do

• Lead technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and mentor a mature engineering team.
• Design and optimize complex, scalable backend services using Java, Spring, and AWS.
• Deliver end-to-end product features by bridging backend services with TypeScript and Angular or React.
• Lead the implementation of AI features, specifically AI chatbots, data quality systems, and dynamic reporting.
• Promote and integrate modern AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude into the workflow.
• Maintain high code quality through rigorous unit, integration, and e2e testing and peer code reviews.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead driving technical direction and mentoring senior/mid-level engineers.
• Deep practical knowledge of Java, Spring, Hibernate, and SQL.
• Extensive experience building and scaling applications within AWS cloud environments.
• Hands-on skills in TypeScript and modern frameworks (Angular or React).
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development practices and interest in LLM integration.
• Must be based in Bulgaria.

Nice to have

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), ubiquitous language, and aggregates.
• Knowledge of hexagonal, event-driven, and modular monolith architectures.
• Experience with testing tools like Spock, Testcontainers, or Cypress.
