Forward Deployed Engineer (AI): Building and optimizing AI-driven integrations and software prototypes for construction companies with an accent on mapping real-world permitting workflows. Location: Must be based in New York City or open to relocation to NYC (Hybrid: 3 days in-office per week)

Salary: $120K – $240K + Equity

What you will do

• Collaborate with customer operations during pre-sale and early pilots to map real-world permitting workflows.
• Prototype software against real-world data and integrations such as ServiceTitan, Salesforce, and Procore.
• Translate custom, customer-specific rules into reusable platform product features.
• Develop production feedback loops, including confidence scores and human overrides.
• Build reusable integration components to accelerate onboarding for future customers.
• Advocate for the customer perspective to influence the product roadmap, design, and engineering.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills with the ability to build APIs, data models, backend systems, and frontend demos.
• Comfort working directly with customers to scope and ship working software based on real data.
• Experience prototyping with complex real-world data from CRMs, ERPs, or field-ops tools.
• Track record of shipping production systems with a focus on speed, reliability, and scale.
• Experience in a startup or fast-moving team environment preferred.
