Senior Applied Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid workplace with regular office collaboration.

What you will do

• Design, research, and benchmark algorithmic solutions for applied AI use cases.
• Build scalable machine learning features using statistical techniques and high-volume streaming data.
• Develop, deploy, maintain, and monitor models, services, infrastructure, and production features.
• Analyze data flowing through Datadog systems and communicate the findings behind it.
• Read and present academic research papers through the team journal club.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation.

Requirements

• BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, machine learning, or a related scientific field.
• Experience with high-scale systems and datasets, including building models and applying machine learning to real business problems.
• Experience writing production data pipelines.
• Ability to explain complex ideas and algorithms to non-technical audiences.
• Care for code simplicity and performance, with enthusiasm for user-facing products.
