What you will do

• Maintain core market datasets and conduct power market analysis for Japan.
• Prepare accurate evidence packs and forward-looking research insights.
• Run and maintain the Japan long-term power market forecast model in Aurora with guidance from senior analysts.
• Build and update research databases covering policy, projects, company updates, and source tracking.
• Monitor policy, market rules, project pipelines, and company disclosures.
• Perform data quality checks and deliver documented charts, tables, and summaries to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in energy research, market analysis, data operations, or a similar analytical role.
• Understanding of Japan’s power and renewables market fundamentals or the ability to learn quickly.
• Strong analytical, communication, Excel, and structured-data skills.
• High attention to detail and strong standards for data accuracy and quality control.
• Ability to validate and reconcile information from multiple sources.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English is required.

Nice to have

• Native or professional Japanese proficiency.
• Experience with power market modelling tools such as Aurora or Plexos.
• Familiarity with long-term forecasting and scenario analysis.
• Experience supporting insight-focused research outputs in a team environment.
