Senior Underwriter, Surety

What you will do

• Independently underwrite contract and subdivision bonds in line with hirify.global Surety’s underwriting philosophy.
• Assess construction-related risks, apply underwriting standards, and negotiate terms within delegated authority limits.
• Manage relationships with larger and strategically important agents and brokers.
• Build a profitable book of business through account retention, responsive service, and new business development.
• Create tactical sales plans, track results, correct performance gaps, and visit agents regularly.
• Participate in projects that affect the business and provide guidance and coaching to others.

Requirements

• Three to five years of underwriting experience.
• Solid understanding of contract and subdivision bond underwriting.
• Knowledge of construction risks, required ratios, industry norms, competitive underwriting approaches, and surety rate manuals.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
• US work authorization required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
