Observability Engineer (Datadog)

Observability Engineer (Datadog): Building and scaling enterprise-grade observability across the technology landscape with an accent on telemetry, reliability, and operational excellence. Location: Must be based in Vilnius, Lithuania (Hybrid: 3 days/week in-office).

Salary: 5100 – 5600 EUR gross, monthly.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the Datadog observability platform across logs, metrics, traces, APM, and security use cases.
• Define and implement reusable observability standards for dashboards, alerting, and logging.
• Embed observability into cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using automation.
• Partner with engineering, SRE, and security teams to improve service reliability and incident resolution.
• Enable self-service observability through documentation, reporting, and executive-level visibility.

Requirements

• Must be based in Vilnius, Lithuania or able to work from there.
• Strong hands-on experience with Datadog (logs, metrics, APM, dashboards).
• Solid understanding of observability principles, SLOs, and distributed tracing.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and instrumentation.
• Practical experience with AWS and Azure monitoring services.
• Experience with DevOps tooling, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Must have no unspent criminal convictions under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania.

Nice to have

• Experience operating observability platforms at scale.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based observability.
• Background in SRE, production operations, or performance engineering.
