TL;DR

Process Engineer (Etch & Implant): Sustaining daily production and driving long-term improvement projects in a semiconductor wafer fab with an accent on yield, capability, and performance improvement. Focus on delivering technical projects for cost and throughput optimization, monitoring Cpk levels, and ensuring process compliance.

Location: Manchester, UK. Must have right to work in the UK; no sponsorship or relocation packages provided.

Salary: £46,000 – £66,000 (inclusive of shift allowances)

What you will do

  • Improve mechanical and electrical yields to meet departmental targets.
  • Monitor Cpk levels across all processes and coordinate R&R studies on metrology equipment.
  • Deliver technical improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, and ease of manufacture.
  • Support new product and platform development through process development activities.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Wafer Fab Operator Instructions and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Requirements

  • Right to work within the UK (no sponsorship offered).
  • Degree or HND in a STEM discipline (Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry preferred).
  • Semiconductor industry experience as a Process Engineer or a strong academic background as a graduate.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern of 12-hour shifts, including nights.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and priority management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in Etch & Implant Process Engineering.
