TL;DR
Process Engineer – Etch & Implant (Semiconductor): Sustaining and improving semiconductor wafer-fab production across dry etch, implant, yield, capability, and process performance with an accent on reactive production support and long-term technical improvement projects. Focus on improving mechanical and electrical yields, monitoring Cpk, coordinating metrology R&R studies, developing new processes, and maintaining compliant operator instructions.
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; onsite role with rotating 12-hour shifts, including two weeks of days and one week of nights
Salary: £54,000–£66,000 per year for experienced hires, inclusive of shift allowances; £46,000 per year at graduate level, inclusive of shift allowances. Bonus of up to 6%.

operates semiconductor wafer-fabrication activities and is expanding its Etch and Implant Process Engineering Team in Manchester.
What you will do
- Sustain daily production and improve mechanical and electrical yields against departmental targets.
- Monitor and improve Cpk levels across processes, including coordinating repeatability and reproducibility studies for metrology equipment.
- Review, track, and report process performance in line with factory policy.
- Deliver technical improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, ease of manufacture, and process capability.
- Support new product and platform development through process development activities.
- Generate and maintain Wafer Fab Operator Instructions and ensure adherence to procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
- Semiconductor industry experience as a Process Engineer or a strong academic background as a graduate.
- HND or degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or another relevant STEM discipline; a degree is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, initiative, communication, and priority-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and in high-pressure environments.
- Competence with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work the stated rotating 12-hour shift pattern and hold the right to work in the United Kingdom.
