Senior Cloud Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS/Terraform): Deploying and managing secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for a global fintech partner with an accent on infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and third-line technical support. Focus on diagnosing complex production incidents, optimizing cloud spend, and implementing GitOps-based continuous delivery via ArgoCD.

Location: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days/week in office). Must be based in or able to commute to Sheffield (preferred) or London, UK.

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

What you will do

• Deploy and manage resilient AWS infrastructure using Terraform and GitLab.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure delivery and compliance using Bash and Python.
• Manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes using Helm and ArgoCD for GitOps-based delivery.
• Act as the third-line technical escalation point for complex cloud, networking, and storage incidents.
• Monitor infrastructure costs and propose optimizations to reduce cloud spend.
• Maintain governance and consistency across multiple AWS accounts.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, specifically with AWS.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with EC2, S3, Route53, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Proven capability in diagnosing root causes of complex cross-layer production issues.
• Knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, or AWS RDS.
• Ability to work in a UK shift environment occasionally and participate in an on-call ROTA.
