What you will do

• Build and lead a global organization of engineers, tech leads, and managers.
• Define engineering practices, tooling, and quality frameworks for real-time and embedded systems.
• Bridge firmware, software, and controls disciplines to ensure architectural alignment.
• Own delivery, quality, and execution across the device software portfolio, including embedded QA.
• Communicate strategy and progress to executive leadership and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Needham, MA.
• Deep expertise in embedded systems, RTOS, and firmware lifecycle.
• Proven track record of scaling global embedded engineering organizations.
• Experience leading distributed teams, including those in Asia.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to enforce integration frameworks across hardware and software.
• Executive-level communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

Nice to have

• Background in consumer electronics, IoT, or connected products.
• Familiarity with BLE/Wi-Fi connectivity and device-to-cloud patterns.
• Experience with HIL testing, CI/CD for firmware, and embedded QA infrastructure.
• Exposure to controls engineering and software workflow integration.
• Experience managing vendor or offshore development relationships.
