Senior Engineer II (Cybersecurity): Building and maintaining observability, automation, and scaling systems for the NG-SIEM platform with an accent on reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency. Focus on designing end-to-end monitoring pipelines, orchestrating scaling solutions for distributed systems, and leading incident response for large-scale security data pipelines.
Location: Must be based in the USA and work solely from U.S. soil. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the Austin, TX office 2-3x a week.
Salary: $160,000 - $250,000 per year

What you will do
- Design and maintain monitoring and synthetic test suites for the entire NG-SIEM pipeline.
- Engineer orchestrated scaling solutions to eliminate bottlenecks across distributed components like Kafka.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during platform-wide incidents and lead on-call rotations.
- Develop capacity forecasting models and tooling to track cost drivers across the platform.
- Automate manual operational procedures into self-healing remediation workflows.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to triage SLO breaches and drive long-term platform resilience.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and work solely from U.S. soil.
- 10+ years of experience in software, site reliability, or platform engineering.
- Strong proficiency in at least one systems language (Go, Java, Rust, or C++) and one scripting language (Python, Bash).
- Deep experience with end-to-end observability, SLIs/SLOs, and multi-service architecture diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with streaming platforms like Kafka, including partition management and consumer group dynamics.
- Strong communication skills for leading incident response and producing post-incident analyses.
