Internal Audit Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid, Auckland, New Zealand; willingness to travel nationally and internationally is required.

What you will do

• Lead and deliver a portfolio of internal audits across diverse business areas, geographies, and strategic priorities.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and provide transparent, high-quality audit experiences.
• Drive strategic initiatives and support the development of the annual audit plan.
• Prepare and review audit scopes, programs, work papers, and reports in line with professional standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop auditors while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
• Promote the value of Internal Audit and support continuous improvement across the co-operative.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CIA, or CISA.
• 10+ years of experience in internal or external audit or risk management, including 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience leading complex audit engagements and managing competing priorities, ideally in a multinational organisation or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, internal controls, artificial intelligence, data analytics, business process auditing, and project management.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, relationship-building, delegation, and coaching skills; willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
