TL;DR

Indirect Tax Manager (Finance): Providing leadership, policy definition, and risk management for the indirect tax function in the US and Canada with an accent on compliance oversight, audit resolution, and contingency reporting. Focus on managing a team of tax professionals, resolving complex tax issues, and ensuring adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards.

Location: Hybrid. Must work from an HPE office on average 2 days per week (United States/Canada).

Salary: $135,000 - $310,500 (Base salary in Texas)

What you will do

  • Lead the indirect tax function for the US and Canada, including sales, use, property, and GST.
  • Manage and coach a team of individual contributors and managers, setting performance goals and objectives.
  • Oversight of outsourced compliance, full audit cycles, and post-audit controversy resolution.
  • Consult with senior management on strategic tax issues and represent the company to tax authorities.
  • Identify compliance risks and implement planning opportunities to optimize tax outcomes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and market trends affecting company tax policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Indirect Tax within the US with exposure and experience in Canada.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Deep expertise in federal and state income tax regulatory environments.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with GAAP.
