AES - Software Engineer - Calls (C++)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; onsite role with occasional travel for training or coordination

Salary: RON 246,000–360,800 gross annually

What you will do

• Review software specifications, architecture, and design documents and translate requirements into component designs.
• Develop and maintain embedded C++/Linux software components for telematics and call-related functionality.
• Analyze existing software, add features, fix defects, port components, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Implement and execute unit, functional, and system-level tests, and participate in code and design reviews.
• Debug software with GDB, identify performance and product issues, and propose solutions for complex technical requirements.
• Coordinate development with software team leaders, customers, and internal stakeholders; occasionally guide 1–2 engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT discipline.
• At least 3 years of software development experience, including 3+ years of professional C++ development.
• Strong Linux expertise and experience developing embedded applications and working with embedded operating systems.
• Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, socket communication, software development processes, and testing.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for up to 20% of working time, depending on project needs.

Nice to have

• Multithreading, asynchronous programming, modem middleware, eSIM, VoLTE, 3GPP, VoIP, or telecommunications experience.
• Automotive experience and knowledge of call workflows, SOME/IP, CAPI, TCP, UDP, or connectivity protocols.
• Experience with UML, Scrum, SAFe Agile, software updates, diagnostics, secure boot, TEE, or Linux kernel internals.
