Location: Must relocate to Delft, Netherlands
Salary: €3,546 – €5,538 per month

What you will do
- Model material behavior using Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulations to improve critical raw material (CRM) characterization.
- Develop strategies for representative sampling and determine optimal locations for LIBS analytical measurements.
- Conduct validation on a simplified lab-scale system to refine strategies and fundamental understanding.
- Contribute to the circular economy by improving the identification and recovery of CRMs from secondary sources.
- Collaborate with national and international experts within the Machines & Materials Interactions section.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience with Discrete Element Method (DEM) in combination with experimental work.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Prior experience as a Post Doctoral researcher is preferred.
