What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end BMS architecture and define detailed performance targets, functional and technical requirements.
  • Act as the technical owner for supplier-delivered BMS, reviewing and challenging hardware, software, and algorithms (SOC, SOH, SOP).
  • Define and execute an independent BMS verification strategy using SIL, MIL, and HIL testing.
  • Drive functional safety activities in compliance with ISO 26262, including HARA, ASIL allocation, and safety case validation.
  • Define the battery pack electrical architecture and select key components such as contactors, fuses, and sensors.
  • Analyze test and field data to perform root-cause analysis of system failures and drive continuous design improvement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Power Electronics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive battery systems engineering within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier context.
  • Proven experience in specifying and auditing BMS solutions developed by external suppliers.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and Vector CANoe/CANalyzer.
  • Experience with DFMEA and system risk analysis.

Nice to have

  • ISO 26262 Functional Safety Engineer certification (TUV or equivalent).
