What you will do

• Define vehicle connectivity and communication architecture for self-driving vehicles.
• Design and implement highly-reliable, low-latency communication frameworks handling diverse mobile network conditions.
• Address connectivity-specific concerns for vehicle runtime, including networking, performance, and observability.
• Collaborate with autonomy engineers to meet performance and efficiency requirements for data throughput.
• Provide engineering support for field testing and fleet operations.
• Mentor senior engineers, set coding standards, and drive the long-term connectivity roadmap.

Requirements

• Expert-level C++ programming skills for designing high-performance, thread-safe, and memory-efficient systems in Linux.
• Experience with networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, gRPC, HTTP and network health monitoring frameworks.
• Proficiency in Linux network configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to navigate and work effectively in large codebases.
• Must be based in Mountain View, California to support a hybrid work schedule (3+ days in office).
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Strong programming skills in GoLang.
