Senior Ground Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Must be based in or be able to commute to Torrance, CA (In-person presence required)

Salary: $123,000 - $150,000 + equity

What you will do

• Design and implement software facilitating the build, test, and operations of vehicles and customer payloads.
• Collaborate with Mission Operators and Engineers to scope software solutions for complex technical problems.
• Develop across the full stack using Rust for the backend and TypeScript/Vue for the frontend.
• Support ground test activities and on-orbit spacecraft operations in an on-call capacity.
• Lead software design reviews, architecture discussions, and mentor other engineers to build a strong team culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience working on space missions and/or the satellite ground segment.
• Proficiency in Rust or other statically-typed backend languages (Go, C++, Java, C#).
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend tooling (Vue, React, Svelte).
• Knowledge of SQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and gRPC APIs.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident/Green Card holder, or other protected individual).
