What you will do

• Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of sales tax accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Research and interpret state and local tax laws to maintain compliance and identify savings.
• Maintain exemption certificate records and handle auditor and customer requests.
• Partner with AR, AP, and Operations to ensure correct tax application on invoices and purchases.
• Support sales tax audits and optimize processes using tools like Avalara and Vertex.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in accounting or sales tax.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, and Power Query.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems and familiarity with Vertex.
• Must be located in or able to work on-site in Reno, NV.

Nice to have

• CPA license or an advanced degree in Taxation.
• Familiarity with Avalara.
