What you will do

• Collect and analyze large-scale network and web data to improve Internet security and privacy.
• Develop methods to fight cyber threats including ransomware, phishing, and distributed denial of service attacks.
• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in network and Web systems.
• Assess the real-world adoption of user data protection regulations such as GDPR.
• Collaborate with world-class researchers at hirify.global and partners in Europe and the US.
• Publish research results in top-tier scientific conferences and journals.

Requirements

• MSc (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience in Internet Measurement, Systems and Software Security, or Web Security and Privacy.
• Strong background in collecting and analyzing large-scale network, Internet, or Web datasets.
• Knowledge of Internet/Web protocols (BGP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SNMP, HTTPS, TLS, MQTP).
• Data analytics skills with Python and SQLite.
• English: Excellent oral and written proficiency required.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-intensive platforms such as Spark or ClickHouse.
• Knowledge of network monitoring technologies like Wireshark, NetFlow, SFlow, and IPFIX.
• Experience with active port scanning, honeypot installation/operation, and systems programming.
