TL;DR

Senior Back End Engineer (Java): Building and optimizing search services for a global platform with an accent on hybrid retrieval, vector search, and generative AI integration. Location: Must be based in the Netherlands and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands.

Salary: €5,030–€7,183 gross per month.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Configure and optimize integrations with the Elastic search platform.
  • Design and maintain robust RESTful APIs for search experiences.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and automation processes.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver seamless digital experiences.
  • Integrate advanced capabilities including hybrid search, vector search, and GenAI.

Requirements

  • Must be located in the Netherlands with the legal right to work.
  • 4+ years of experience in backend development.
  • Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and building REST APIs.
  • Solid experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Proficiency with search engines and modern search architectures.
  • Understanding of software quality, performance, and scalability.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Cloud Foundry.
  • Knowledge of Elasticsearch.
  • Experience working with Kafka.
