Systems Engineer (Fintech)

Salary: £90,000–£130,000 base plus equity

What you will do

• Build and own the infrastructure powering the production payments platform.
• Write production-grade Go code for systems engineering tasks.
• Perform performance tuning and reliability engineering to ensure system stability.
• Instrument the stack with a unified observability pipeline using logs, traces, and metrics.
• Conduct security analysis across network, OS, and code layers.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support platform operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, SRE, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in production-level Go.
• Deep understanding of OS internals, including user/kernel separation and system calls.
• Strong knowledge of host-level networking, including TCP/IP, iptables, and CNI.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Must be located in Europe and within two hours of London time.
