Systems Software Engineer (AI Management Plane): Designing and validating low-level system software for the manageability and health of hirify.global's first-party AI hardware with an accent on BMC, firmware, and hardware diagnostics. Focus on owning the acceptance path for partner-delivered software, debugging across hardware/software boundaries, and building automation for fleet readiness.

Location: Hybrid: San Francisco, CA (3 days/week onsite). Relocation assistance available.

Salary: $266K – $445K + Equity

What you will do

• Design and maintain low-level firmware and system software, including BMC, Redfish services, and gNMI telemetry.
• Own integration and acceptance of partner software releases, including requirements definition, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Build automation and CI infrastructure for testing and managing systems in the lab.
• Develop system health monitoring, remote diagnostics, and recovery paths for production data centers.
• Debug complex production issues involving PCIe, power, thermals, and boot sequences.
• Collaborate with security, networking, and manufacturing teams to define software contracts and drive issues to closure.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in low-level system software, firmware, or device drivers.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or similar systems languages.
• Experience with Linux-based platforms, OpenBMC, BIOS/UEFI, or RTOS.
• Strong knowledge of hardware interfaces such as I2C, SMBus, PCIe, Ethernet, and JTAG.
• Ability to debug live hardware using packet captures, bus captures, and Linux tooling.
• Must meet U.S. export control laws and regulations.

• Familiarity with platform security topics such as secure boot, firmware signing, and attestation.
