What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of new features within the core Android/Kotlin platform from conception to deployment.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and QA to ensure delivery of critical engineering initiatives.
• Mentor and coach other engineers through technical guidance and high-standard code reviews.
• Define and champion engineering best practices and contribute to long-term architectural decisions.
• Develop maintainable software with comprehensive test coverage and improve CI/CD strategies.
• Champion the adoption of AI-native engineering practices using AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of software development experience, with 3+ years specifically in Android using Kotlin.
• Deep expertise in performance optimization, multi-threading, and building secure Android applications.
• Extensive experience designing and securing APIs for large-scale mobile systems.
• Expert knowledge of Android frameworks and debugging across various OS versions.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI coding assistants to accelerate development while maintaining security standards.
• Must be based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Understanding of Identity and Access Management protocols (FIDO, U2F, WebAuthn, SSO, SAML, OAuth).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles or certifications like CISSP or Security+.
• Experience building security applications such as VPNs, firewalls, or anti-virus software.
