What you will do

• Curate Japanese Art & Antiques auctions by evaluating, selecting, and presenting objects with buyer appeal and commercial potential.
• Assess authenticity, condition, quality, and market relevance; provide accurate estimates and maintain high curation standards.
• Support sellers with expert guidance on submissions, auction strategy, reserves, estimates, and auction performance.
• Identify and develop new supply opportunities by building relationships with dealers, galleries, collectors, artisans, and specialist sellers.
• Contribute to broader Asian Art & Antiques initiatives, including cross-category themes, special sales, and collection opportunities.
• Lead projects that grow the category using market insights and performance data; collaborate with experts and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in Japanese Art & Antiques, including authenticity assessment, condition evaluation, valuation, and market knowledge.
• Professional experience in Asian art/antiques, auctions, galleries, collecting, curatorial work, or an online marketplace sector.
• Understanding of the European buyer and seller market for Japanese Art & Antiques.
• Established network of dealers, collectors, galleries, artisans, sellers, or other industry contacts.
• Fluent English and strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to use data and market insights for decision-making.
