What you will do

• Lead the development of advanced AI/ML infrastructure for large-scale foundation models in ML accelerator-friendly simulations.
• Collaborate with Google DeepMind and Waymo Realism Modeling teams to enhance simulation realism.
• Provide technical leadership on large-scale ML model architectures for autonomous vehicles.
• Design and scale distributed systems for planet-scale dataset generation and model training.
• Translate product and business goals into measurable technical deliverables and system alignment.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative research engineering culture.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ML infrastructure, including scaling, training, and deploying large-scale systems.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in London, England.

Nice to have

• MS in Computer Science or Robotics.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience (5+ in ML infra).
• Experience with DeepSpeed, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar ML frameworks.
• Expertise in distributed training techniques, gradient sharding, and optimization strategies.
• Deep understanding of auto-regressive transformers and custom-kernels for hardware efficiency.
• Practical familiarity with Autonomous Driving, Simulations, and ML accelerators.
