TL;DR

Lead Data Engineer (Vertex AI): Leading enterprise-scale AI, search, and conversational platform initiatives with an accent on GCP architecture, generative AI integration, and production-ready solution design. Focus on driving technical strategy, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring system scalability and reliability in high-impact digital environments.

Location: Must be based in Paris, France (Hybrid: at least 3 days per week at the client office in Paris).

What you will do

  • Define detailed technical designs, integration patterns, and architecture for AI and search platforms.
  • Lead development teams, enforcing engineering standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary stakeholders including cloud, data, QA, and business teams.
  • Guide implementation patterns for GCP and Vertex AI.
  • Contribute hands-on to complex technical areas and ensure production-ready AI solutions.
  • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in GCP and Vertex AI ecosystems.
  • Advanced proficiency in both French and English.
  • Experience with AI Search, conversational AI, and generative AI integrations.
  • Backend development experience with Java and/or Python.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, observability, and cloud security.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
