What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team of 6-10 professionals, balancing leadership and hands-on development (50/50 split).
• Design and deliver high-quality, scalable applications using Node.js and conduct rigorous code reviews.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance to foster professional growth and skill development.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to drive technical planning and iterative development.
• Implement technical strategies and mitigate risks to ensure long-term system health and scalability.
• Manage performance cycles and participate in hiring to scale the engineering team.

Requirements

• Must be based in one of the specified EMEA countries (Spain, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, or UK).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including OOP principles and clean code practices.
• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and optimize data structures.
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, and debugging complex system interactions.
• Proven ability to handle production incidents, debugging, and escalation management.
• Experience in a leadership role combining strategic vision with technical execution.
