Project Engineer (Networking)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Coordinate technical delivery of projects from solution design and documentation through to implementation and testing.
• Interact with clients to determine requirements, agree on solutions, and present results.
• Create high-level designs, synoptics, integration documents, and test specifications.
• Define and review network configurations to match design objectives.
• Perform 3rd line support and troubleshoot network issues through investigation and manufacturer coordination.
• Manage the handover to clients and in-house support staff, including providing training.

Requirements

• Fluency in both Dutch and English is required.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, and access points.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN, and VLAN IP planning.
• User knowledge of Linux and remote management via SSH.
• Ability to travel within Europe (10-20%) and work onsite in railway environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in the rail/transportation sector.
• Linux REDHAT or Debian certification.
• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, IT, or Computing Engineering.
• Experience with Puppet, Zabbix, GIT, VMs, or Containerization.
• Knowledge of RF Telecom, antenna design, and placement.
