What you will do

• Scale and optimize production-ready dbt data models across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers in Google BigQuery.
• Implement dbt data tests, define model health scores, and maintain column-level documentation.
• Manage the unified dbt Semantic Layer to ensure a single source of truth for business and AI/ML metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to ingest and transform new data sources via platforms like Estuary.
• Apply software engineering best practices including version control, code reviews, and automated deployment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or data engineering.
• Production-grade experience with dbt modeling, testing, and deployment.
• Deep proficiency in writing and performance-tuning complex BigQuery queries.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and scripting.
• Experience with Git and software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NoSQL or operational databases like Postgres and Kafka.
• Experience with BI ecosystem integration (Looker, Tableau, dbt Semantic APIs).
• Exposure to MLOps, AI/ML pipelines, or GenAI tooling such as Vertex AI and LangGraph.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi or Terraform).
