Backend Developer (PHP)

Location: Hybrid (Vilnius, Kaunas) or Remote (Anywhere in the world)

Salary: €5,600–€7,600 per month

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP and Go.
• Optimize APIs for performance, scalability, and security at a scale of 10M+ mailboxes.
• Own the data layer, including schema design, query optimization, and ORM usage.
• Integrate third-party services and maintain technical documentation.
• Monitor and debug production issues to ensure high system availability.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• Strong experience with PHP and solid command of OOP principles and design patterns.
• Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SQL, and at least one ORM.
• Familiarity with message queuing systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Understanding of microservice architecture.
