What you will do

• Analyze and document existing PLC (Siemens TIA Portal) and robot (KUKA KRL) logic from external vendors.
• Design and implement Python-based software components to replace or orchestrate legacy control systems.
• Build maintainable, testable services with a focus on modularity and long-term ownership.
• Monitor and maintain software uptime, latency, and efficiency in an operational factory environment.
• Act as a bridge between digital product delivery and physical manufacturing systems.
• Define and evolve SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs like OEE for critical systems.

Requirements

• Strong coding skills in Python or other modern object-oriented languages like C++ or C#.
• Solid understanding of software design, abstraction, and maintainable system architecture.
• Experience with production-grade code, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work in operationally critical environments where reliability and observability are paramount.
• Effective communication skills across software, manufacturing, and operations domains.
• Must be based in or able to work from Germany.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLC programming, industrial robots, or OT systems.
• Familiarity with KUKA KRL, OPC-UA, MQTT, or similar industrial integration technologies.
• Background in logistics, manufacturing, or production-critical environments.
• Experience with simulation-driven development or digital twins.
