Director of Product Design (Fintech)

Location: Cardiff, London, or remote within the UK; distributed working may include ad hoc meetings in London. Relocation support to the UK is available.

Salary: £140,000–£165,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the strategic direction and design vision for the Payments business area.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to define priorities, shape roadmaps, and drive execution.
• Lead and grow a high-performing team of Product Designers.
• Raise design quality through feedback, coaching, and strong craft standards.
• Champion design thinking and influence product direction and organisational culture.

Requirements

• Experience leading design strategy and vision across complex product areas.
• Ability to operate from long-term direction through high-quality execution.
• Strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, Research, and Commercial stakeholders.
• Experience building and leading high-performing design teams.
• Strong perspective on product design, systems thinking, and customer experience.
• Ability to work from the UK; visa sponsorship is available.
