Manager I, Engineering - Husky (Distributed Systems)

What you will do

• Manage a team of software engineers from new graduates to senior engineers, supporting career development, inclusivity, and high-impact delivery.
• Provide technical leadership by reviewing architecture decisions, RFCs, pull requests, and software quality.
• Partner with product teams to evaluate use cases, implement solutions, and prioritize platform capabilities.
• Share on-call responsibilities, lead incident response, and promote operational excellence.
• Scale Husky from a petabyte-scale database toward exabyte-scale capacity.
• Guide work across event ingestion, exactly-once processing, storage compaction, columnar formats, data deletion, and metadata services.

Requirements

• Previous experience leading software engineering teams and delivering high-quality software products.
• Software engineering background with experience in distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java or Go is preferred.
• Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems, and remediation initiatives.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, career development, and performance management skills.
