Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform across development, staging, and production AWS environments.
• Architect and manage core AWS services including VPC networking, IAM, RDS, Redis, ECR, ECS, and EKS.
• Build and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable automated deployment workflows.
• Ensure infrastructure security via IAM role design, secrets management, and encryption standards.
• Optimize system observability and monitoring using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Lead production incident management, performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis to improve reliability.

Requirements

• Strong production experience with Terraform and AWS (specifically networking, RDS, Redis, and ECS/EKS).
• Proven track record of owning and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Advanced Linux system administration and debugging skills.
• Operational knowledge of MySQL, including migrations, backups, and failover strategies.
• Expertise in IAM and secrets management.
• Availability to work 9 AM to 5 PM Sydney time.

Nice to have

• Working familiarity with Django and Go to debug service code and runtime behavior.
• Experience with observability platforms such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Knowledge of FinOps and AWS cost-optimization strategies.
• Experience operating shared multi-tenant environments.
