What you will do
- Translate legal domain knowledge into actionable requirements for AI model development.
- Identify inefficiencies in legal processes and assess opportunities for AI-driven automation.
- Design evaluation frameworks and define quality benchmarks for legal AI.
- Create and test internal tooling to accelerate model development workflows.
- Mentor junior legal AI researchers on legal concepts and industry best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal practice specializing in contract review and negotiation.
- Deep familiarity with the full contract lifecycle and its stakeholders.
- Demonstrated understanding of and interest in AI technologies.
- Exceptional communication skills to distill complex legal concepts for technical stakeholders.
- Must be based in Auckland and work on-site.
Nice to have
- In-house experience within an enterprise-level organization.
- Experience managing legal spend and billing processes.
- Proven track record of collaborating with software engineers or technical teams.
