Māori Language Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

Location: Remote, New Zealand

Salary: $8–$65 per hour, with the final rate based on experience, expertise, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Review and annotate Māori-language content for AI training.
• Evaluate AI-generated Māori outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, syntax, semantics, style, and cultural appropriateness.
• Identify and document recurring language and model error patterns.
• Provide expert feedback to improve prompts, evaluation methods, and linguistic guidelines.
• Collaborate with the project team to strengthen AI model performance and cultural understanding.

Requirements

• Fluency in Māori is required.
• Professional experience in translation, linguistics, language teaching, editing, or a related field.
• Strong cultural knowledge and clear communication skills.
• High attention to detail and linguistic precision.
• Must be based in New Zealand.
• Must provide a secure computer and stable internet connection.
