What you will do
- Triage and resolve data-related support tickets escalated from L1 helpdesk.
- Independently fix recurring issues including data lineage, access permissions, and ETL job failures.
- Route complex technical cases to the appropriate Data Engineering teams with clear diagnostic context.
- Monitor data alerts from GCP and observability tools to proactively identify system issues.
- Maintain and contribute to technical runbooks and troubleshooting documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine escalation criteria and improve data operations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Data Support, Data Operations, or Data Engineering.
- Strong SQL proficiency for writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery and GCP data services.
- Practical knowledge of Git, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows.
- Basic Python skills for reading ETL code and running diagnostic scripts.
- Upper-intermediate English (B2+) required for team communication.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with dbt project structure and troubleshooting dbt failures.
- Experience with data observability tools like Monte Carlo or PagerDuty.
