What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and internal tools in Java to process millions of daily financial transactions.
• Evolve PostgreSQL data models and optimize query performance across multiple services.
• Build and improve systems that automate operational and transaction-monitoring workflows.
• Work within a distributed microservices ecosystem, managing service communication and integrations.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a new fraud monitoring platform.
• Investigate production issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement long-term system improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring.
• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with major cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.
• Strong engineering mindset with the ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing technical and business priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (GitLab preferred).
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with C# or Rust.
• Background in fintech, payments, fraud detection, or transaction-heavy systems.
