Java Engineer - Automation and Efficiency Team (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain Java backend services and internal tools for processing and analyzing millions of financial transactions daily.
• Own PostgreSQL data models, queries, and performance optimization across multiple services.
• Build systems that automate operational and transaction-monitoring workflows at scale.
• Work within a distributed microservices ecosystem, including service communication, integrations, and dependencies.
• Contribute to a new fraud-monitoring platform and investigate complex production issues and bottlenecks.
• Improve performance, observability, reliability, scalability, CI/CD, and deployment automation in collaboration with QA and Analytics teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring.
• Strong production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Experience with major cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems independently and work across multiple services and technical domains.
• Ownership of work from implementation through deployment and operational support.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, preferably GitLab.
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
• Hands-on experience with C# or Rust.
• Background in fintech, payments, fraud detection, or transaction-heavy systems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
