Senior AWS Data Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

What you will do

• Take full technical ownership of secure and scalable cloud-native platforms and data pipelines.
• Design and deliver high-quality software solutions using modern engineering frameworks and AWS-native technologies.
• Shape the engineering foundations required for enterprise AI adoption and AI-native development.
• Collaborate with product leads and stakeholders on scalable architectural solutions to support platform growth.
• Work across business, cloud, and data science teams to manage security, FinOps, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, and promoting high software engineering standards.

Requirements

• Must be already living in the Netherlands and possess a valid work permit.
• 4–5+ years of hands-on AWS experience in production environments (ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Kubernetes).
• Strong Python software engineering skills, including frameworks like FastAPI and Pydantic.
• Solid Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD experience using Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Deep understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM and VPC architecture.
• Fluent English proficiency (Dutch is a plus).

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/GenAI enablement or engineering environments supporting ML workloads.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing (AWS Kinesis, Kafka).
• Familiarity with observability tooling such as Elastic Stack or Datadog.
• Exposure to FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with data engineering tools like pandas, polars, PySpark, or MLFlow.
