What you will do

• Design, build, and support highly scalable, performant distributed applications.
• Collaborate with the Principal Engineer to establish new architectural patterns and designs.
• Ensure technical solutions are architected in line with strategic technology alignment and control standards.
• Drive a culture of technical innovation through R&D and knowledge transfer of emerging technologies.
• Manage the full development cycle, from discovery and design to testing and live support.
• Implement full-stack security considerations in all architectural decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering change to business-critical, highly available customer-facing platforms.
• Expertise in Java development, including Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong experience with AWS (Lambda, Step Functions) and container orchestration via Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with Kafka, MongoDB, Elastic Search, and Redis.
• Deep knowledge of the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Cloud AWS, Data, Cloud Streams).
• Must be based in the UK to facilitate the hybrid work model in Manchester.
